Meet the Chula Vista Team Behind DryMark Restoration Chula Vista

We’re the crew that shows up when your kitchen’s under two inches of water or a mold patch has spread behind the drywall in your Otay Ranch bedroom. Every person on this page has passed a background check, wears a uniform with their name on it, and carries a license number you can verify. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s that we’ve all been on the other side of a bad restoration job, and we refuse to run one.

Our People

Alicia Brennan, Owner

I started DryMark Restoration Chula Vista in 2011 after five years as a claims adjuster, watching homeowners lose thousands because a crew forgot to photograph the pre-loss condition or wrote a scope so vague the carrier denied it. That documentation gap is why I built this company around The Haven Standard. I still answer the emergency line myself some nights, and I review every written scope before it goes to a customer. My desk has a cracked tile from a 2014 sewage backup in Eastlake that I keep as a reminder: the details nobody thinks to document are the ones that decide whether a claim gets paid.

Marcus T., Lead Water Technician

Marcus has been drying structures in Chula Vista since 2016, starting as a helper on a three-man crew in National City before getting his IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician certification and later his Applied Structural Drying credential. He specializes in hardwood floor rescue using the Injectidry panel system, which pulls moisture through the subfloor without tearing up finished oak. On weekends he coaches youth basketball at Hilltop Middle School, and he brings that same patience to explaining psychrometric data to homeowners who just want to know when they can walk on their floors again. He keeps a laminated moisture-content reference card in his truck from his first year; the edges are worn soft from humidity.

Diana R., Senior Mold Remediation Installer

Diana joined us in 2019 with eight years of remediation experience from commercial high-rises in downtown San Diego, and she immediately raised our containment standards. She holds IICRC Mold Remediation Specialist certification and is the person we call when a job requires tertiary drying, the final phase where we drop vapor pressure differentials low enough to pull bound moisture out of dense materials like lath and plaster. She lives in Terra Nova and knows which Chula Vista neighborhoods built in the 1970s have the asbestos-containing acoustic ceilings that change a mold job’s timeline. Her inspection kit includes a Polaroid camera she uses to test flash photography in dark crawl spaces before committing the digital rig.

James K., Service Coordinator

James is the voice you hear when you call our emergency line at 2 a.m. He’s been with DryMark Restoration Chula Vista since 2017, and before that he dispatched for a fire department in Riverside County, so he doesn’t confuse urgency with panic. He coordinates crew deployment across our fourteen-city service area, tracks equipment availability from our Dri-Eaz and Phoenix inventory, and prepares the initial documentation packet that Alicia reviews for every job. He keeps a handwritten log of every after-hours call he’s taken, not because we require it, but because he can’t shake the habit from his dispatch days. He’ll ask you the exact address, the water source if you know it, and whether you’ve shut the supply valve before he sends anyone.

Elena V., Restoration Apprentice

Elena started with us in 2023 after completing a construction technology program at Southwestern College, and she’s working toward her IICRC WRT certification while rotating through every phase of our work. Right now she’s shadowing Marcus on water losses and Diana on mold containment builds, learning to read a thermo-hygrometer and calculate grains per pound in her head. She grew up in Bonita and still lives with her parents while she builds her tool collection, which currently includes a moisture meter she bought used and calibrates weekly against Marcus’s reference unit. She asks more questions than any apprentice we’ve had, which is exactly why we hired her.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard travels with our crew to every job in Chula Vista, whether it’s a slab leak in Rolling Hills Ranch or fire damage in the Village Third Avenue corridor. Alicia wrote it in 2011 because she saw too many restoration companies treat documentation as an afterthought, and too many homeowners pay the price in denied claims. Every person on this page has signed it.

Clause 1 means we deliver a written price before anyone starts work. No exceptions. No “we’ll figure it out as we go.” The scope you sign is the scope we execute. Clause 2 requires a photo record on every visit, uploaded to your job file, not held hostage until final invoice. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise means if we miss something, we return and fix it under the same signed guarantee, not a verbal assurance that evaporates when the crew leaves.

We don’t do urgency theatre. We don’t do scope creep. We don’t ask you to call for pricing. The standard is the standard because it works, and because Alicia watched too many people learn the hard way that it matters.

Call (619) 486-5459 any hour. A live person answers. That person knows where our equipment is, who’s available, and what The Haven Standard requires before we dispatch.
